Poor Astro was dumped by his original owner for spraying. He was spraying because he wasn't neutered! Spraying, which is how male cats mark territory, is a normal behavior for cats who aren't neutered (Sadly, private neutering in NYC is often prohibitively expensive, unless you can take advantage of the limited resources available for low-cost spay/neuter). Now that Astro is neutered, no more spraying! Astro is a stunning black and white long-haired young man (between a year to a year and a half) who has a personality just as big as his coat. He's a playful, energetic cat, who loves to move, explore and turn everyday life into a game. Wind toys, chasing, Zoomies, he's always ready. After he burns it off, he switches mode and happily melts into affection. A show genuinely enjoys pets and attention and likes to be part of what you're doing. He's confident and social with people, but he does like to be the boss around other male cats. Astro would thrive in a home that was an interactive energetic and engaging cat, even another male cat who didn't need to be the alpha!
