KittyKind is dedicated to matching our cats with their perfect homes and educating the public on feline welfare in New York City. We have an unwavering commitment to caring for and finding the best adoptive homes for our cats, with a special dedication to those who are deemed “special needs” because of illness, injury, disability, or age. Each year, KittyKind rescues more than 400 cats and makes a lifetime commitment to each one. Their happy endings attest to the dedication of our network of compassionate, tireless volunteers and to the contributions of the public, who provide donations, foster care, and, ultimately, wonderful forever homes.
• We believe that animals are not property to be discarded, disposed of, or killed just because they are homeless or unwanted.
• We believe that people should be friends, caretakers, and protectors of animals.
• We believe that we must take responsibility for the lives of animals we've rescued, including those who are sick, disabled, old, or unable to care for themselves.
• We believe that we must give our rescued animals food, shelter, and medical care, relieve their suffering, and comfort them until we can place them in safe and loving homes.
The KittyKind Adoption Center is located inside Petco, Union Square, on the northeast corner of Broadway and 17th Street in Manhattan. We are easily accessible via the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, F, L, M, N, Q, R, and W subway lines.
To see our Adoption Center cats, drop by between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday, or on Sunday between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. To view all of our cats, including those currently in foster care, see View All Cats.

KittyKind is an all-volunteer group with no paid staff. We work regular jobs to support ourselves and help the cats, so we can’t be at Petco as much as we’d like.
Please note that we do not accept surrenders at our Petco Adoption Center. If you wish to surrender your cat, please e-mail [email protected].
