Cindy is a gem! She is loving, affectionate, and laid back, but with a playful streak that emerges when she’s chasing a toy with her foster cat siblings. All pretty amazing considering her rough start in life. Her rescuer, responding to a posting about a cat in poor condition, was in tears when she found Cindy on the street, severely emaciated with matted fur, infected eyes, and open wounds on both sides of her torso. But it was tears of joy that flowed as Cindy, after being vetted and healed through the compassion of her rescuer, began to experience the joy of indoor life and human interaction. About 5 years old, very petite and beautiful, Cindy will seek out her human for petting sessions, and there’s no petting she doesn’t like (although she’s not a fan of being picked up); even belly rubs (off limits for many cats) quickly get her purr motor running! Cindy very much enjoys, and needs, human company. She’s discovered that cuddling by your side, sleeping with you at night, and having you respond when she talks, are all experiences that surely beat a cold, hard lonely life on the street! Cindy also enjoys the company of other cats, so can be in home with another gentle cat or with a person who is home often to give her lots of attention and affection.
