What a journey beautiful Frankie has had! Frankie was found scrounging around garbage cans, so small and malnourished that the Good Samaritan who rescued her thought she was a kitten (vets estimate she’s anywhere from 1 to 5 years old.). Vet care, an adequate diet, and lots of love in a foster home helped this girl recover and blossom. What she really did NOT like, however, was the presence of others cats in her foster home, though she is a big fan of humans! Now as a solo cat in her new foster home, Frankie has bloomed into a lovebug. She loves being near you, follows you around (sometimes so eagerly that she gets underfoot!), sleeps with you, and sits with – or on – you. Previously starved for affection as well as food, she loves attention and petting and enjoys her meals with gusto! She is learning about toys and delights in having you play with her (a teaser wand is a favorite.) Still uncertain about people, she might be skittish at a sudden movement or loud noise or might give a quick nip when overstimulated or swat you as you walk by, but this behavior is decreasing as she gains confidence and trust. In fact, in a very short time, she has evolved from being a cat who hated being picked up to one who enjoys being held … until she looks at you with eyes asking to be put down. Speaking of eyes, she has such expressive eyes. When her foster mom talks to her, Frankie pays attention with a look suggesting she understands! Or, when you’re watching TV, she’ll look at you lovingly for minutes on end, until you invite her to join you and then rewards you with cute, chirping noises. Frankie would do best in a home with a patient person, no other cats or young children. She is negative for FIV and FeLV, spayed, and up-to-date on vaccinations.
