Domestic Short Hair

James lived with an elderly man who passed away, and then was put out near the trash. Poor James! Losing his person and his home all at once! Luckily, there are other strays in the neighborhood, and people noticed James hanging out with them, and he was rescued. He is polite and confident. He was completely relaxed his first night in his rescuer's home. He is naturally very active, playful and sweetly rambunctious. His energy level 4 or 5 out of 5 once he relaxes in his surroundings. He doesn't trust being picked up yet but we suspect that would change with a stable human companion. When he's not in the mood, he walks away or squirms out of your grasp. We think he will love to sit and sleep with a person once he feels safe. Right now, he doesn't like to be alone too often. He was living in the garbage area for nearly six months. He was always really playful, and friendly. Tenants and super let him come into the basement so he was also living and sleeping in the laundry room a lot. Technically he was living outside near two other cats who live in the backyard. He was friendly with one of the cats. James is FIV and FeLV negative, neutered, and up-to-date on shots. His age is an estimate from the vet--judging by his energy level, he may be younger. Email to apply!
